  • Every once in a while we come across a great puzzle game, such as 1Volt detailed below, that really stays with us. This title was tested on the Huawei Honor 5X  and it’s available for free in the Play Store. Launched in November 2015, it’s a pretty original release.

It feels a bit like Cut the Rope, but with electric current instead of ropes. The soundtrack is excellent, electronic music mostly and you play as a battery moving around by swinging on electric current “vines”. There’s a limited number of electric beams you can use and one has to connect to walls, move objects and destroy objects even.

There are magnetic fields to reverse, traps and switches to turn on and off. Boss stages are included and over 60 levels, divided into 4 industrial themed areas. The battery can jump and push off walls, plus move itself forward. You have to swipe to cut the electric beams and touch a wall to extend the beam to it. It’s a fun and original game, very pleasant to play, but also a bit hard.

The battery can juice up from tanks of energy in the way and various electric fields will try and push you to traps. We give it a 9 out of 10 and you can download the game here.
