Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Core Apps Ported to the Galaxy Nexus – Google Wallet Included

A short while ago Google was forced to introduce the new Nexus devices and announce Android 4.2, in a not so conventional manner, with the help of blogs and YouTube videos. Android 4.2 is the new version of the OS and it brings all sorts of new features, from gesture typing to widgets accessible via the lock screen.
Google is supposed to release updates to Android 4.2 this month, for devices such as Nexus 7 and the Galaxy Nexus. The new smartphone made by LG and called the Nexus 4 will be shipping with the new version of the OS pre-installed. With all Nexus devices running a stock version of Android porting the 4.2 apps should be easy and only need the attention of a skilled developer to make them available for the Galaxy Nexus.
New features such as the Photo Sphere or the new version of Gmail have been ported to work on the Galaxy Nexus, along with the Calendar app, keyboard, clock and others. Installing them will require that your device is rooted. If so, you need to download theb .zip archive and install it using your custom recovery. Google Wallet is also included in the list of ported apps, in a separate .zip that you can flash in CWM. You can also extract the .apk files and place them in the system dir and set permissions to RW-R-R. Mind you, we will not be held responsible if you damage your device so proceed only if you know what you are doing.
