  • Everybody’s talking about the movie Suicide Squad these days, either criticizing it or raving about it. But there’s also a mobile game tied in with the movie to try, if you’re a fan, either of the movie or of the FPS action on handsets. It’s called Suicide Squad: Special Ops and it’s free in the Play Store.

It’s a first person shooter in the vein of Unkilled and Dead Trigger, only this time we’re not fighting zombies, but rather the villains from the movie. They’re some sort of carbonized critters with bulbous heads and weapons in their hands. They come in waves and every 2 or 3 waves we also get a new location to play on. They alternate between the subway, a bank, a part of the Gotham and more.

You can only play as Harley Quinn, Deadshot or El Diablo, each with a special attack and power. Harley wields a baseball bat and revolver and has a special ability that involves going on a rampage and destroying everything. Deadshot uses a scope rifle with great precision and two forearm mounted guns. His special attack is a sort of bullet time.

Finally El Diablo simply shoots fire from his hands. We played the game on the Huawei P9 Lite and it worked just fine on it. The graphics look excellent, in their cell shaded nature and the flames and explosions, plus the backgrounds, everything is perfectly done. The AI is kind of slim and the game is very easy, provided you’re not overwhelmed by huge enemies throwing gas canisters at you.

We had a blast playing the game and we gave it a solid 9.2 out of 10.
