  • Avast! is one of the most appreciated antivirus solutions on mobile, courtesy of features like Theft Aware and its many ways of stopping perps from getting your phone and using it, or hacking it. Today the app gets even better, thanks to an update, that’s detailed below.

The new version brings simplified anti-theft setup, a new anti-theft UI and improved uninstall protection of applications. There’s also a Field Shield, that scans downloads, a complete and detailed activity log and the option to disable sending texts to avast! Account. We’ve got folder scanning and Vietnamese localization among others.

The update is already available in the Play Store, if you’re craving for it. By the way, the current version of the app is avast! Mobile Security 2.0.4304 and it requires Android 2.1 to run. It also comes with a nifty widget and a network counter, that measures the transfer of data entry/exit. We’ve got a SiteCorrect that corrects URLs and shield control used to scan the web and apps. You can get it from here.
