Beats Music Service and App Launching on January 21st

Beats has been preparing a brand new streaming service for a while now and it appears it’s ready for the big takeoff. Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine’s company is ready to offer us a brand new rival for Spotify and Pandora apparently.
Their service and probably associated app will debut on January 21st, which is pretty soon. This product comes after 2 years of work and its setup process for the user starts with a preferences selection. First you’ll have to tap bubbles on a series of screens, in order to choose your favourite genre. You’ll do one tap for like and two taps for love, or hold down the bubble to make it disappear.
The same goes with artists and after choosing your favorite, you’ll be provided with “music you like”. Custom playlists based on listening habits are also included and we’ll also get contextual playlists, like those based on locations. For example you’ll have a certain set of tunes for the gym and one for work.
You can choose your location, activity and genre choice from a Right Now page, so you can build a playlist. In case you’re interested, the service will offer 20 million tracks for $10 a month.
