  • There’s a very nasty app out there dubbed Camara Vision Nocturna, that was found as a piece of malware, according to the antivirus software company Avast. This is supposed to be a night vision recording app, but in fact it manages to steal money from you.

Avast uncovered that this app has unusual permissions required for a camera app. Those include the permission to write, read and receive text messages, plus a feature called “GET_ACCOUNTS”. With a bit more research, Avast found that the app was parsing phone numbers from the likes of Whatsapp or ChatOn and sending them to a server.

Then they were registered for a paid messaging service and those signed up to the service paid up $2.80 automatically. Some users even got chargers reaching up to $35 each month. So, in conclusion you should stay away from the app and other suspicious software, like Flappy Bird clones.
