  • It is a very solid characteristic the fact that Google has always supported best it can the developers. In return, they took the provided tools and made Chrome one of the most highly appreciated browsers in the world. So what’s next?

Coming to Android and iOS and with the APIs provided by the Apache Cordova platform are native Chrome based web-apps. Starting today Google has released the first samples for the developers and the Git instructions page. Still the apps will be different from the ones that the PC variant of the Google Browser is so well known for.

It is the fact that every app can run outside of the Browser that makes things special. More so with the fact that developers are also free to launch their creations in a manner that does not even require an internet connection to run. Thus the grade of independence gives these upcoming apps their own spot in the Play Store or Apple App Store. It’s also a very strong point for cross platform development – a fact that has had a wide range of attempts in the past. As far as compatibility goes the apps will work on Android ICS and above and iOS6+.
