Colorful Google Logo Appearing in Some Android Search Bars

  • It would appear that some random Android users have started seeing colorful Google logos appearing in their search bars, as shown below. Usually, Google search features a gray logo placed on a white bar, on a homescreen.

    That certainly felt like a thing of the past, so Google spruced it up with color, at least for some lucky users. The tweak is happening on the server side of things and many of the devices running various versions of Google Play services, so there’s no pattern to establish here. This could be a test to see the users’ initial reactions, which are good so far.

    The color choices for the Google logo are the typical ones for the Google web logo, so nothing we couldn’t predict here. Some people prefer the gray version, on top of their already colourful carousel of multitasking apps in the Recents area. How about you? Which one do you prefer?
