Crazy Taxi City Rush Review (ASUS FonePad 7 FE375CG): Fun, Fast Paced, But Limited by IAP (Video)

Crazy Taxi City Rush is a freemium game, that I tested on the ASUS FonePad 7 FE375CG and I had a lot of fun while doing that. This game is an endless runner with a yellow cab and your aim is to pick up passengers and take them to the desired destination.
The title is available for free and it’s not a remake of an older title, in case you’re wondering. It’s an original endless runner and it allows you to swipe to the sides to change lane, just like in Subway Surfers, but there’s also a boost button. You can turn by keeping pressed the side of the screen that corresponds to the curve you’re reaching to. There are tons of upgrades included here, especially for the engine, boost, car chassis and design customizations, like decals, ornaments and such.
You get all sorts of crazy passengers, like party girls, jocks, mascots and other folks. Once missions are completed, you get paid and use the money for new cars, upgrades and other such things. If you have more than one car in the garage, you can rent it out and make extra money. The freemium aspect is a bit exaggerated here, as you get an energy meter with about 4 bars, so there are only 4 missions you can do at a time.
But then there’s the possibility of watching a video ad for an extra bar, so it’s not all bad. There are still lots of things that you have to pay for and timers, so freemium is still an issue. You earn money in missions and gems from completing achievements. There are 3 cities to race on and you have to follow an arrow to reach a destination in the allotted time. That’s kind of hard to do with traffic ahead, so you have to be smart about your cornering and boosts.
The game is fun to play in short doses, it’s not very hard and it’s certainly fast paced. We give it an 8.7 out of 10 and you can download it here.
