  • Cyanogen Inc is working with Boxer on a new email client, that will make it to Cyanogen OS 12. Cyanogen wants to evolve its solutions into a full fledged OS, separate from the Android mainstream software.

They are also looking at new ways to depend less on Google solutions, like Gmail for example. Boxer was launched on iOS in 2013 and Android last fall, with the app being available for free on the Play Store. There are some premium features to unlock with in app purchases, stuff like Exchange support, multiple accounts, custom quick replies and more, with payments of $9.99 or $14.99.

All the premium features are available for free on the preinstalled version from the Cyanogen OS. The app will also offer a high degree of customization, like the options to tweak the custom left and right swipe actions, notification sounds, LED colors for email accounts and more. Great task management is also promised.
