Dead Defence Review: Tower Defense Title With Zombies and Sci Fi Turrets (Video)

I’ve had the chance to play with a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact handset for a few days and I decided to test some games on it. Those included the Dead Defence title, a tower defense game available for free on the Google Play Store.
This game was announced in January and runs perfectly on the Z1 Compact, obviously, since it doesn’t have high end graphics. The concept is simple: this is a tower defense title, with enemies that come in waves, as zombies, spiders, hounds and all sorts of creepy critters. You will fight them by strategically placing turrets along a labyrinth-like field.
Turrets include ice guns, fire guns, machine guns, rocket launchers and more. You can do some research using the lab points you get to earn more firepower and unlock new turrets or upgrades. Each turret and even your based can be upgraded and speaking of base, you can even place a turret on top of it, for extra coverage of the field.
This is a game that’s played in long sessions, not short breaks, so beware! I should also mention there’s a survival mission at some point, with a single point allocated to your base, as HP. This game is pretty hard and not very different from the bulk of tower defense games, that’s why it gets a 6.8 out of 10 from us. You can download it here.
