Dragon Hills Review (Samsung Galaxy Tab A): Endless Runner With a Splash of Dragon-Based Fairy Tale (Video)

Dragon Hills is not your average endless runner, since it involves a red hair princess, riding on the back of a big dragon. We played the game on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 and had a blast. I also liked the fact the game is available for free on Android, while on iOS it costs $2.
The control is very easy since the dragon will run continously and only start drilling into the ground like a mole if you press the screen and keep it pressed. The deeper you go, the higher you jump afterwards, when you resurface. You have to stay away from pockets of lava, that will instantly kill the dragon, plus stay away from the soldiers throwing spears at you.
There are a few lives here, each of them lost with each hit. There are abilities and upgrades available and you have to collect coins to unlock those. Traps include lava, spikes, soldiers and spears, plus bosses every once in a while. Upgrades are available for your sword and armor, as well as extra lives. Dragon Hills is quite fast paced and it has a nice heroic music, plus cute graphics. It can be played in short sessions, so it’s excellent for a commute.
It’s pretty hard to not die in the end, but we had a blast playing the game. We give an 8.3 out of 10 and you can download it here.
