  • Now that the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live were launched at Google I/O, the big G also decided some apps were needed to put the devices to work. That’s why they launched a companion app for Android Wear and also a special Wear section in the Play Store.

The companion app will connect to your Android Wear device and allows you to control settings and options related to notifications, voice commands and probably also the aspect of the UI. You can tweak the agenda, set an alarm, a timer and other such things. There are also controls for your voice action preferences, by the way. In the Google Play Store you’ll find a special Wear section here, with a few apps for starters.

There’s Evernote, Pinterest, Banjo, Eat24 Food Delivery, Google Maps and Hangouts. I expect a few mini games to come too, the likes of Whatsapp, Twitter and Facebook as well and obviously a ton of fitness trackers and running apps. Hopefully we won’t also get malware bundled…
