  • Google has launched the new Play Newsstand, a new magazine app for Android tablets and smartphones. The app allows you find the latest magazines and newspapers in their digital version.

There’s a braking news area, blogs, in depth article with high res images, audio and video. Categories of news included here are sports, business, cooking, entertainment, fashion and more. You can find here both free news sources and paid ones, as well as Full HD magazines. There are offline news editions to explore when you’re not connected and you can bookmark news stories if you don’t have time to read them now.

By the way, the new Google Play Newsstand integrates Google Currents subscriptions and Google Play Magazines into one, replacing those two. You can download Google Play Newsstand for free from here. I’m not a big fan of Apple’s Newsstand UI, so let’s see how this one does.
