Hopeless 2: Cave Escape Review (Sony Xperia Z5): Lovable Creepers are Back, This Time in an Endless Runner (Video)

We tested the first Hopeless game here and we had a blast with it, but the gameplay was rather limited. You sat in the dark and waited for the bad guys to strike. Now, that game has been turned into an endless runner, dubbed Hopeless 2: Cave Escape, that’s shown in action below.
We reviewed it on the Sony Xperia Z5, in case you’re wondering. It’s available for free in the Play Store and involves a series of blobs from the previous game, now riding mine carts and not being able to see the monsters that pop from above, below or forward, in the dark. They will get rather trigger happy our blobs and tapping any area of the screen means shooting in that exact direction.
You can use shotguns, pistols and a variety of other weapons, unlocked as you progress. SMGs are also in the mix and you have to be careful, since more yellow blobs may come out of the dark to be saved by your mine cart. Dragons and big teethed monsters are the ones that will be after you this time. You can get 3 stars in each level, depending on how many blobs you save in the end.
There are dozens of levels and the concept is cute, but rather too simple and repetitive. We give this title an 8.1 out of 10 and you can download it here.
