  • The HTC stock camera app is now up for download in the Play Store, in case you wanted a taste of that minimalistic UI and nifty features included in the mix. Apparently, the app is not exactly compatible with all handsets, since it only comes to a few HTC phones.

The HTC Camera allows Sense 6 devices to update their camera features, without a firmware upgrade. The software brings HTC Eye Experience to supported devices, but don’t expect the list to be very long. HTC EYE camera experience was first unveiled on HTC Desire EYE, including capture modes like Split Capture, for taking back and front shots at the same time. There’s also the Crop Me In feature, that places the user into a photo from the back camera.

This app follows a trend, following the cores apps like HTC Weather, HTC Lock Screen and HTC Scribble, that have been made available on the Play Store. I’ve seen HTC One Mini and HTC One M8 Google Play Edition owners on the web complaining that it doesn’t work for them, the HTC Camera app. You can get it here and test it out for yourself. Opinions?
