Lara Croft Go Review (Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7): Keeps Hitman Go Core, but Adds a Lot of Style, Relaxing Atmosphere (Video)

It’s very hard to say that a game filled with snakes, spiders and death traps relaxes you, but that’s exactly what I’m going to say about Lara Croft Go. The product of Square Enix, this title basically takes the recipe of Hitman Go and makes it even better.
There’s more style here, with an excellent atmospheric approach. We’ve got a laidback experience, with no stress in the way the traps and dangers are approached. You pay about 4 or 5 euros for this game and get to enjoy both some parkour work from Lara, very nice artwork and smartly designed traps. The game was tested by us on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, so we had a very generous screen estate to enjoy.
You move around by swiping on predefined lines, that mark potential paths and they can go up, down, to the side, in a diagonal and sometimes criss-cross in interesting manner. Often times you can’t go back the way you came, since the rocks can crumble and then you have to manage that. This feels like an evolved 3D board game of sorts, filled with traps like spiders, buzz saws, lizards and snakes.
Lara can throw speakers at them or shoot them automatically if approached from the side or back, never the front. Over 100 levels are available and this game is clearly simpler than Hitman Go, since there are no patrolling thugs here. The graphics goes to 60 FPS easily on newer devices, so it totally looks swell. You have to pull levers, play with physics and weight, press buttons and move platforms around, while also keeping an eye out for relics and gems.
It’s a very relaxing experience, that gets from us a very solid 9.5 out of 10. You can download the game here.
