  • Windows 8 and Windows RT have been appreciated for the ability to snap apps one near the other for the sake of multitasking, while Android has received such a feature only through various OEM customizations. Samsung has the most famous solution, as the multi window system, but now there’s an alternative.

A company called Ixonos has created the solution below, that allows you to run multiple apps on the screen at the same time. The test is done on the Nexus 10 slate and even resource intensive apps like Google Earth handle the multitasking perfectly. There are Windows-like buttons included here, for minimizing, maximizing and resizing windows all over the screen.

You can drag and drop windows around the screen, so you can run two apps side by side or even more. You can pull on a corner of a window to resize it and tap an icon to toggle between full screen and windowed mode. The system feels pretty intuitive, if you ask me and also lag-free.
