The Man From UNCLE Mission Berlin Review (Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+): Could Have Been a Great Game, Descends Into a Mindless GTA Clone (Video)

It appears there’s a curse in the world of mobile video games, actually two of them. One of them has to do with sports players who appear on the cover of games and then something bad happens to them and the other one involves movies turned into mobile games, that are not a very good idea and usually make pretty bad games. The Man From UNCLE Mission Berlin is a mobile game associated to the latest Guy Ritchie movie and we played it on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+.
The game is available for free in the Play Store and it’s a third person action game with graphics good enough to challenge a GTA to a duel. You get big cities to run through and even drive a car, while chasing spies, stealing boxes and playing around with weapons. You’re supposed to be stealthy, but the controls don’t help much. You can play with either Napoleon Solo or Ilya Kurayin, the two secret agents that are the protagonists of the movie.
It all happens in the 1960s, during the Cold War and the styling of the murky grey city fits the bill. The poor aim is frustrating here and the driving is downright comical, especially when the cars get in the way of the shooting. With every mission you complete, there are ability points to get and distribute them to upgrade 4 stats. The multiplayer aspect is also included and you can get an opponent quite fast and chase him throughout a huge city.
Some guys run you over, others snipe you and others blow up your car. In the end, the game is fun, but it gets boring fast, especially since the stealth part is spoiled by the imprecise controls. We give this game a 7 out of 10 and you can download it here.
