  • Android Pay was announced quite a few months ago, at Google I/O 2015 and we’re still waiting for it to debut. Well, Google only promised it would come to USA “sometime this year”, without a clear timeline. Now we learn that its debut will come as soon as the day after tomorrow, according to… McDonald’s.

An internal notice sent to a few employees at several Mc locations mentions that the support for Samsung Pay and Android Pay will start to be offered by the restaurants soon. They also say that the procedures are the same with the ones of Apple Pay (and they spelled Apple wrong). The Samsung Pay bit is also wrong, since the service launches next month.

Retailers were already preparing for Android Pay, with Rite Aid promising to bring back support for Google’s services, after giving up on them for another solution called CurrentC. McDonald’s is going to be a major partner for Android Pay in USA and not only that country. Starbucks will probably follow soon, as well as many of the duo’s rivals.
