  • Microsoft’s famous digital assistant, Cortana is ready to make its debut on Android, it seems, after also coming to desktop via Windows 10. The assistant got a huge PR boost last summer, when it correctly predicted 13 of the World Cup 2014 matches.

Apple has Siri as its assistant and Google relies on Google Now. Both have limitations and right now Cortana feels like the more complete solution among these assistants. People close to the project are claiming that Microsoft wants to create a digital assistant based on the technology from an artificial intelligence project called “Einstein”.

This means they could develop a brand new assistant, or simply upgrade Cortana before porting it. It’s a well known fact that Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s CEO is more fond of bringing Microsoft solutions to other platforms. He already pushed a touch Office to iOS and Android way ahead of Windows platforms. The new assistant or the upgraded Cortana is said to get the ability to read and understand emails for the user.
