Mission Impossible Rogue Nation Review (Xiaomi Mi 4i): More Fun Than Terminator Genisys, Less Fun Than Robocop… (Video)

I feel the need to compare Glu games, because they’re very much alike. Especially those associated to movies… We had a solid Robocop title last year, then the mediocre Terminator Gensisys. Now Mission Impossible Rogue Nation gets its own game, that we played on the Xiaomi Mi 4i.
This one is the typical static shooter, maybe a bit more sniper-based than usual. You control a special agent, that’s either searching for a target to assassinate, gunning some terrorists or just doing damage, while hiding behind cover. The game also has a PvP aspect and a sort of base builder, that has you upgrading your base with units and a bigger vault for crystals.
Some missions last a few seconds, since all you have to do is assassinate some sort of boss. Basically, find him, shoot at him and if you hit the head it’s all OK. Weapons have surprisingly good looking effects, especially the higher tech ones, like the plasma gun. Machine guns are available too, plus stealthier knives, medikits and grenades.
Graphics look pretty good and while moving from cover to cover, you have to stay away from rocket launchers, that will do a ton of damage. Obviously, the game is repetitive, but the idea of stealth is welcome, since using those knives and killing enemies the right way may not have you discovered and fired at.
There’s an energy system, at least for PvP and a ton of expensive weapon upgrades to perform. All in all a run of the mill Glu game, but one of the fun ones. We give it a 7.5 out of 10 and you can download it here.
