New Version of VLC Player (Pre Release) Hits Play Store

Although in my opinion nothing beats MX Player on Android, here’s a VLC Player new release on the Google Play Store, in a pre release version. This is a free and open source cross platform media player, that’s already hugely popular on the PC.
This beta version is supposed to be a port of the standard VLC to Android. Apparently it’s meant for power users and hackers and it’s not very stable, plus it’s a bit slower, so be wary. The version up for download here is meant for devices with an ARMv7 CPU or a X86 chipset. ARMv6 devices will get support later on.
VLC for Android is able to play most local video and audio files, plus network streams, just like the desktop release. It includes support for subtitles, multi track audio, auto rotation, aspect ratio corrections and gestures. There’s a widget for audio control in the mix and a complete audio media library.
