  • The famed Nokia Z Launcher debuted as an open beta on Google Play recently and it’s preinstalled on the famous Nokia N1 tablet. Today we learn of an update brought to the launcher, a pretty small one if you ask me.

The launcher became famous for its features, including a single home screen with a clock widget and a short list of the recently used apps. There’s also a regular dock at the bottom of the screen and the main appeal here is being able to search through the apps by writing their names directly on the home screen.

As far as the update I just mentioned goes, it offers preliminary support for icon packs and offers you the ability to long press on text. This means you can uninstall or hide apps from the ranked list and there are more long press actions to apply, to icons as well. UI improvements have also been included for Android devices and we’ve got an improved design and performance of carousel widgets.

There’s improved Scribble handwriting recognition and the Play Store icon will load Play Store without the pre search text. You can get your download here.
