  • Among the third party Android launchers, Nova Launcher is certainly one of the most popular solutions. Well, today we learn that its beta version got updated with a major release, that brings Material Design features and new animations, as well as some changes behind the scenes.

The Material Design changes are clear, ranging from the keyboard part to the white menus with red accents. You can long press on a home screen to get to the section where you can choose wallpapers, widgets and Google settings, pretty much like in Android 5.0 Lollipop. You can sign up for beta testing right here on the Google+ community and go to the Play Store to download the latest beta.

Among the things you get here there are new animations, more animations, Google Search from the search bar shown as overlay and new Nova Action icons. Max icon size has been boosted to 150%, there’s widget search, pull to search in the app or widget drawer and you can change page indicator color. You can easily remove or add desktop pages by dropping icons on the blank page or removing the icons from a page.
