Star Wars Galactic Defense Review (ASUS MeMo Pad 7 ME572C): Nice Tower Defense Game, With Tons of Content, But Also a Bit Boring (Video)

Star Wars Galactic Defense is yet another game that uses the famous Star Wars franchise to make a buck. The game is available for free and we played it on the ASUS MeMo Pad 7 ME572C. This title is a tower defense one, with a pretty slow gameplay, that’s still reasonably fun.
It’s filled with content and allows you to play with the dark side or the Jedi. There’s a stamina meter that runs out, so your gameplay is limited. There’s also the option to replay the missions you’ve already played on a harder difficulty level. The enemies come in waves and you can call them earlier for some extra resources. Since this is a tower defense game, you’ll be building towers at fixed points on a map and some of them are even able to spawn units.
The towers can be upgraded into more potent ones, that will fire at a longer distance, slow down the enemies or spawn more powerful footsoldiers. The game is very slow, once again and each level takes quite a while to play. The title is still fun, especially since you also have a hero with special powers to send into battle. There are also special attacks to aid you like, lasers raining from the sky, but those are limited.
The levels award you with 3 stars and allow you to unlock new planets to play on. You can also compare your scores with the ones of your Facebook friends and I’d say that overall graphics are OK in this title. The sounds are original, including the ones of lasers, ships, wookies and all that. An interesting aspect is that you can level up both yourself and the towers you use. Characters like Yoda, Darth Vader or Luke appear here and there are 4 main types of towers to play with.
You can also use a relic to increase the power of a hero or unit. The game feels fun, but it’s also pretty generic and becomes boring in the long run. We give it a 7.8 out of 10 and you can download it here.
