  • Microsoft’s Office for Android tablets was a limited experience till now, involving a request to join a Google+ group, in order to test out its features. Well, that limitation is done, since now Microsoft has made available its apps with no strings attached, via the Play Store.

We’re talking about Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Android tablets, available in preview phase, of course. You are still required to have an Android 4.4 KitKat device with at least a 7 inch diagonal, ARM CPU and 1 GB of RAM. As shown in the screenshots from the Play Store what you get here isn’t a lite experience or in any way hampered by the mobile touch approach.

There’s a wide variety of templates, font options, alignments and shapes to play with in Word, while Excel offers you great looking spreadsheets, formula, tables, diagrams, comments, PivotTable reports and more. PowerPoint is probably the most intuitive of the three, since it involves the least complex interaction. You can download Word from here, Excel from here and PowerPoint from here.
