  • Runtastic Pro is a fantastic running application, that’s golden for joggers. It simply takes fitness to a new level, a social level. The app requires Android 2.1 and up, takes up 11 MB of storage and it has been on sale for a bit, decreasing its price from $5 to 99 cents, which is a very cool offer.

The application uses the GPS on the phone to map your fitness activities, like running, biking, walking and it tracks your progress, with distance, speed, calories and more being measures. You can become part of a global fitness network and the PRO version of the app has the coolest feature I’ve heard in a sports app: voice feedback for each kilometer and live cheering from friends, who will motivate you to go further. There’s the option to auto pause the running session and the ability to watch your workouts in 3D.

Google Earth is required for that, but it’s a very cool addition to the app. Heart rate support is also here, with a runtastic chest strap included and heart rate zone training and analysis are available. There’s a split table included with dynamic mile and kilometer split. You can get this app from here, for a much lower price than usual.
