New Version of Google Translate to Feature WordLens Image Translation and Auto Detection for Conversation Mode
Google Translate is headed to new territory, as it will get an updated version, that includes features like WordLens Image Translation and Auto Detection for Conversation Mode. We have to mention some context here: Google bought the developer of the Wordlens app a few months ago and this will means new features for Translate.
WordLens is uses to translate text and signs from another language into the one you want, just by pointing the camera at the text/sign. The text will appear in the language of your desire through the lens, which is a very cool feature. As you can see in the image above we had a Spanish menu and in the one below an English translation done instantly by the new app.
You can try this out via the WordLens app, that was made available for free after the Google acquisition. As far as the other novelty goes, there will be a conversation mode included in the new Google Translate. This means that if you’re traveling you’ll be able to translate what other people are saying to you. The app will listen to the two languages that people are speaking and automatically translate them.
For example if a Spanish native is speaking to an English speaking fellow, the app translates the first one’s words into English and the second one’s into Spanish, showing both parties what they’re saying in real time. Pretty cool right?
