Pocket Heroes Review (Huawei Honor 6 Plus): Angry Birds Epic With a Twist and With More Movement Space (Video)

  • Pocket Heroes is one of the games I’ve been playing on the Huawei Honor 6 Plus phablet and had a blast with it. I wasn’t expect much at first, but then the game proved to be a bit of a hidden gem. It actually feels a bit like Angry Birds Epic, but with the ability to move characters around.

It comes RPG and strategy and allows you to control a party of heroes, like a knight, mage and healer. The enemies come in waves and there are traps in the levels that will affect both you and the enemy, like a fire pit for example. There’s a Daily Quest here and the enemies you face are goblins, ogres and other such medieval creatures.

Boss battles are also included and one of the things that bug me about the game is the 1 dollar price of the revival of characters. You will get equipment and loot after battles and you can also trigger special attacks, like a meteor shower or activate a shield. It’s all about tapping with the right tempo and drawing a line from your character’s position to the area you want to go to.

Aside from the regular currency, you can also spend gems on a skill tree, that includes special abilities and stats upgrades. The game is fun and casual, with a decent difficulty level. Graphics are cartoonish and we give Pocket Heroes an 8.4 out of 10. You can download it here.
