Ratchet and Clank: Before the Nexus Review (Gionee S8): 3 Year old Graphics Hold Up, Limited Ammo Annoys (Video)

Ratchet and Clank: Before the Nexus is a free game in the Play Store that we reviewed recently, on the Gionee S8 handset. You’ll be playing as the Lombax Ratchet, with the small robot Clank on his back and you’ll be gathering nuts and bolts.
Resources can be transferred to the PS3 game that appeared in 2013, just like this title. There are also boss fights, not only running on rails here. This is a typical endless runner, with 3 lanes and all sorts of traps that can fry you or make you explode. Various robots and critters will also get in the way/ Graphics are good looking and I can’t believe this is a 3 year old game, since it has quite nice looks.
You can buy a variety of weapons, like a pistol, rocket launcher and more, plus gadgets like the Groovitron or a tornado launcher for example. Groovitron is famous from the Ratchet games, because it makes enemies lose control and start dancing like crazy. The controls are straight forward, with swiping to change lanes or jump and tapping on the screen to shoot.
Sometimes your commands may be misread, so that’s a bummer, especially in the boss battles. My problem with shooting is that you can easily run out of bullets and I would like it very much if the ammo was unlimited. Also, the action feels a bit repetitive. We give it an 8.5 out of 10 and you can download it here.
