  • There are many of us who played Re-Volt back in the days of the Pentium PCs and now the game is back on our mobile devices. Re-Volt Classic is the title I’m referring to here and it’s a very fun to play game.

I tested it on the Evolio Evotab HD slate, that sadly doesn’t have that good of a display. The game goes for $4.99 and it comes from back in 1999. It brings 42 toy cars (remote controlled vehicles), that will have to pass through tunnels and jump from ramps. The races are quite difficult and just when you’re about to finish a race in first place, you’ll find yourself stuck or hitting a wall, perhaps slipping on an oil stain.

Controls are simplistic and acceleration is automatic, but there are times when you ran into a wall and get stuck in forward mode, without a way to reverse or reset the car. I also regret the lack of multiplayer and the fact that the game makers didn’t revamp the graphics one bit. There are 14 race tracks and 12 car races available, plus there’s a Stunt Arena for you to practice crazy tricks.

The game gets a 7 out of 10 from me and you can download it from here.
