  • I know that people are basically tired of seeing the same old endless runner popping up everywhere, but today we’ve found a title of this kind that’s pretty original. It’s dubbed Rodeo Stampede and it’s available for free in the Play Store. We’ve played it on the Huawei P9 Lite and had quite a bit of fun.

The full name is actually Rodeo Stampede: Sky Zoo Safari and the game is actually two in one – endless runner and zoo manager. Published by the folks behind Crossy Road, the game borrows the blocky looks from that title and it’s a runner that has you catching animals with a lasso. You’ll have to keep the screen pressed to ride a beast and lift it to jump on the back of another animal.

Once a new animal is ridden enough, he will be tamed enough to be enclosed in your zoo and bring you cash. You will also hit boxes and obstacles, so you have to be careful when navigating in a herd of beasts. Once the animal is tamed you are given the opportunity to take a picture and there’s also a time meter for the taming. Beasts include elephants, zebras, ostriches, bulls and many, many more.

Zoo areas have tiers, all of them upgradable and bringing more or less cash. Launched in June, the game lets you slide left or right to change direction of your ride. Keep in mind that you can’t ride a critter forever, as it gets wild after a while and starts prancing out of control, inevitably landing you into a bush, rock or tree and that’s game over.

A fun game, that gets an 8.1 out of 10 from us.
