Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 Review (Samsung Galaxy Note 4): Nice Resource Collecting Game, Not Much Else… (Video)

Roller Coaster Tycoon was one of those games that we all played during our childhood and we enjoyed creating crazy rides for people to risk their lives on. Well, the Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 title has arrived on the Play Store for free. We tested it on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and you can check out some gameplay sequences below.
The game comes from Atari, who owns the rights to this title and it simulates owning and managing a fun fair. You can build a carousel, obviously a rollercoaster as well, a food stand and upgrade them all. Occasionally you’ll also have to repair them and you should always try to keep the people happy and the buzz high. There are timers for every building, since this is a freemium game after all.
Graphics are… cute, but I can’t say more than that, even on the Galaxy Note 4’s Quad HD display. The freemium resource here is the tickets, that you’ll spend with a variety of purposes, including building coasters. You also need to collect coins from the businesses you created in the amusement park and some of them can be repurposed, for example a food stand selling coffee afterwards.
There’s also a Music Store, where you can unlock original tunes from the Rollercoaster Tycoon series and you can also build roads to make access easier to the coasters and carousels. Control is based on touch and you can also buy plots of land in order to expand your business, but they’re quite pricey. Coasters are totally customizable, at a variety of angles and you can also add more parts and increase or decrease the height.
Overall, the game is not so bad, but it gets boring fast, so we’re going to give it a 7.5 out of 10. You can download it here. Sadly, I find the controls to not be at all intuitive on mobile and the whole purpose of the game is collecting coins, which is not my idea of fun.
