Run Sheldon Review: Turtle Racing Hares Becomes More Than a Fable (Video)

Run Sheldon is the type of side scrolling endless runner platformer that gets to you fast. Who doesn’t want to see cuddly rabbits being taken on by a tortoise? This is a free game, that I tested on a handset called Allview A5 Quad from Eastern Europe, Romania.
In Run Sheldon you play as Sheldon, a turtle who has to avoid hares, swim, fly and jump, while trying to stay away from those long eared critters. You can jump on their heads or use powerups that are available in your path, like a big bubble or even some sort of special turbo and wings. The goal is to get as many meters of racing as possible and gather as many coins as you can.
You spend those on powerups and reviving the turtle when the hares get it. The animation is beautiful and the graphics are cartoonish, plus the soundtrack is actually pretty nifty. You have to jump to avoid the hares and that’s pretty much all the control you need in this game. You’ll switch environments occasionally, switching to a forest at night, a field by day or a tree trunk.
This is a very fun game to play, but it doesn’t add much to the genre. We give it a 8.7 out of 10 and the download is here.
