  • Although right now if you look around you see people everywhere communicating via Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp, it appears that Samsung’s proprietary messaging service ChatON is also pretty popular. Apparently Samsung claims it has reached 100 million users on this service.

They’ve released version 3.0 of the software to the Play Store, with a fresh Holo interface and some more social options. If you own a Samsung you’re probably hours away from an update, but you probably want to know what you’re getting yourself into. The new UI is pretty flat, instead of the previous iOS-like interface, which is a nice change.

You can switch the background (wallpaper) of My Page, add videos, images, locations to other profiles and even share content from the LIVEPartners to other ChatON users. These partners include premium news and entertainment sites. The push service has also been fixed and some abnormal stopping issues as well.

You can download the app from here.
