Shine Runner Review: Funky Redneck Racing Game With Hovercrafts (Video)

The folks of Vector Unit have stood out of the crowd with games like Riptide and Beach Buggy Blitz, but now they’ve got another title to take pride in. This one is called Shine Runner and we recently tested it on the Allview X1 Soul handset.
The game is priced at $1 and it comes with high end graphics and a humorous theme. You’re a redneck who is shipping around moonshine, meeting with gators and bargaining with a variety of resources, like alligator tails and such. You’ll sail the swamps in a hovercraft and this is not exactly racing, since you have no rivals, but rather things to crash into.
Those include police cars, police hovercrafts, houses on pilons, gators, chicken filled stables and more. There are 6 tracks to play with and 10 racing days in a season. The aim here is to simply collect money to buy and sell stuff. I would have liked to customize the hovercraft and buy new ones, but sadly that’s not possible.
This game is appealing for two reasons: the graphics and the humor. We give it an 8.3 out of 10 and you can download it from here.
