Ski Safari Adventure Time Review (Samsung Galaxy Note 5): Funky Improvement Over the Original (Video)

  • Ski Safari was an unexpected hit when it first came out, that totally required a successor. Well, it came as Ski Safari 2 a couple of weeks ago, but before that there was Ski Safari Adventure Time, that we reviewed below. We played it on the Galaxy Note 5 and you can download it from here for $1.

It uses the trademark Cartoon Network characters from the Adventure Time show, including BMO and Finn. The core of the game remains the same: ski your way down the hill, enormous hills, neverending hills and bump into clouds, plus do huge jumps on the way. You can ride other creatures that come into your path and some of the hills look very much like cotton candy and have a very eye catching design.

You need to get as many meters as possible and the only control you have here is the tap to jump. If you tap and keep the screen pressed, you can spin your character in the air. Said spin will provide a boost and there’s good reason to rush and boost, as you’re being chased by a candy avalanche. You can hit rocks, which slow you down, or use the characters you’re riding to destroy them.

There are jelly lakes that you’ll bounce into and this game is played in rather long sessions, not exactly the casual type of title you play on the subway, right? The soundtrack is quite funky and the items and upgrades available are pretty much useless, since they only change the character aesthetics and that’s it. Costume and small boosts are also included.

We give this good looking game an 8 out of 10, but it risks getting old pretty fast.
