  • Skype for Android has been updated to version 5.2, that brings an interesting photo sharing feature. Turns out you can now share pictures with your offline contacts. This was necessary, since rivals like WhatsApp, Viber, BBM or such already allowed offline pic sending.

This way, you can leave your offline contact a photo and he or she can see it afterwards, when they’ll be online. When the contact is back on Skype, the picture will be there, waiting for them. Photos you share while the contact is offline are inline in the chat history, whether or not you’re online. The update also improves the picture in picture view feature, now supported on phones.

Other novelty in the changelog includes chats that load faster, call quality improvements and you can check it out for yourself by downloading the app from here. The call quality improvement mentioned before will especially apply in low bandwidth scenarios.
