Sleeping Prince Review (BlackBerry Passport): Funky Platformer With Unusual Ragdoll Mechanics (Video)

Since I’ve been playing with the BlackBerry Passport phone for a while, I also tried out some games on it. Luckily, this device has Amazon App Store preinstalled, so I could download the title Sleeping Prince and give it a go.
This one is a free title, a platformer that features a sleeping prince, being tossed around a series of levels inside and outside a castle. The ragdoll physics are quite impressive for an arcade title and there are 40 levels to play with, all of them with pretty low difficulty. You can achieve medals, that will unlock future levels and also use powerups. Physics are nice and you’ll operate on a series of platforms, at various heights.
You need to gather tears and stars to complete two objectives in a level and the third one has to do with the time you take to complete said level. There are levers to pull, chests to open up and even a swordplay mechanism is thrown in for good measure. You can use trampolines and a floating fat princess to ascend, plus a variety of chandeliers and climbing ropes. And all of that while sleeping…
Basically you will keep the prince selected with your finger on the screen and then flick him around. There are many missed jumps and the control isn’t 100% accurate all the time. That’s why we give the game an 8.3 out of 10. You can download it here.
