  • Soccer Stars is a game launched last summer and available for free in the Play Store. It’s supposed to be soccer, but in an arcade version, with 5 small pieces that are used as players and swipes to hit the ball and direct it to the goal.

The game was played on the HTC Desire 820 and it’s very fun and addictive. You will only play against human opponents, but there’s also an offline training mode. You can swipe to determine the strength of the shot and also rotate the direction arrow to fire in an area you want. Own goals are available here and the first to two goals wins.

There are competitions and cups, as well as coins earned and spent in every tournament. With said coins you can unlock new “kits” for your pieces and new arrangements in the field. Ricoches are included here, so it’s better not to fire the ball randomly, or you’ll end up with an own goal. You can use 2 hands on the screen in order to make it easier to select the direction and strength of the shot.

Various minigames are offered in Soccer Stars, like a scratch and win lottery ticket, with coins and more unlockables. Physics are good and you play by turns, but there’s a time limit. You can level up and in the background you’ll hear the typical soccer match atmosphere. We give this game a solid 9.5 out of 10 and you can download it here.
