  • Steppy Pants can be best described as a “tripping simulator”, done in arcade fashion and with a great deal of inspiration coming from Crossy Road. We played the title on the Allview X3 Soul Plus, a locally integrated version of the Gionee S6 Pro and we detailed it below.

Launched at the end of May, the title is available for free in the Play Store and it’s basically a one tap affair. The length of the tap is the key here, since pressing the screen too long makes you take an overly long step and fall on the street, while a short step may land you on the cracks between tiles. And that’s the key here: not stepping on cracks between tiles.

It’s a fun game, good to play on the go and throws in some variation in the form of street crossing, falling rain, night/day alternating and even some season changes, from what I noticed. You will tap the screen to move the first leg and then the second and so forth, as if guiding a drunk person. Graphics are blocky, in Crossy Road fashion, but they’re funky looking and well done.

The purpose of playing the game is to get as many meters walked as possible and get more coins, in order to unlock new outfits. You should also be careful about stepping on TNT, since that’s a big no-no, of curse. I noticed that the game uses quite a bit of battery, so you should remember that if you start playing at something like 12% battery.

Ragdoll physics are quite good and this game needs more environments, since variety is its main problem. We give it an 8 out of 10.
