Stick Hero Review (Gionee Elife S5.1): Simplest Game Ever, But Very Addictive (Video)

  • If there were awards for the simplest gameplay on a mobile game ever, the Stick Hero title would pretty much win them. It’s a hugely simplistic title, that can easily be played with one hand and we tested it on the Gionee Elife S5.1 handset, one of the thinnest phones in the world.

Created by Ketchapp, this game is a very simple arcade title, that involves the control of a small ninja, who will use bridges to cross gaps. The bridges are simple lines that you will draw just by pressing on the screen and keeping pressed. You can extend the bridge over gaps and you have to calculate so it won’t be too big for the gap or too small. If it’s too small you’ll fall into the pit, if it’s too big it will cover the next gap and probably be too small for that one, so you’ll fall into the pit again.

The character can also go under bridges to collect cherries, that you’ll use to purchase a variety of characters. Backgrounds change with each play and I have to admit this free game is addictive. Gameplay sessions may last a few seconds or a minute or two tops, so the experience is rather fast. If you get the bridge on the dot, you’ll get one extra point added and keep in mind that the platform distance is randomized, so there’s no strategy to conceive here.

The graphics are pretty nice for an arcade and I’m going to give this title an 8 out of 10 and you can download it here.
