  • Google is fond of easter eggs, we all know that and they’ve implemented a few in Android as well. You can find one in the stock Google Keyboard app for Android, that was just released to the Play Store.

The stock keyboard app has a variety of themes, that are pretty easy to switch. All you need here is a custom launcher, one like Nova Launcher for example, since it’s also free. Once you reach the custom launcher, you’ll need to long press on the homescreen, choose Shortcuts and then Activities. You’ll then choose Google Keyboard, probably listed as “Android Keyboard (AOSP)” and then choose “Android Keyboard Debug Settings”.

Then you’ll see that there’s a new shortcut on our homescreen, taking you to the advanced settings area for the stock keyboard. There will choose the theme, with 4 basic options and 6 total options. There’s the Basic one that dates from before Gingerbread, Stone, Gingerbread, ICS and in the Basic area you can choose between normal and high contrast. You can download Google Keyboard from here and Nova Launcher from here.
