  • SwiftKey, a famous input method for Android and iOS devices has been updated to version 5.10, that brings a few welcome improvements. The software uses a special AI that predicts the next word the user intends to type, which is what brought it fame in the first place.

The app is able to learn from previous texts and input patterns, but now let’s get to the novelty. The third party keyboard is now up to 50% faster than before and the reaction time is much better. This summer SwiftKey became fully free of charge, dropping its original pricing and switching to a profit generating theme store. People were complaining about lag in the meantime, so that’s why we get a speed boost this week.

The keyboard launches 20% faster than before and closing it happens 30% faster as well. Typing is up to 18% more responsive than before and the keyboard refresh is 15% to 50% faster as well. Aside from the bug fixes like correction of capitalization, the app has include 12 extra Indian languages. Emoji predictions have also been expanded with 14 new languages, focusing on Eastern Europe ones.
