  • Glu has been made famous by its static shooters, often hit and miss affairs, although their 2014 Robocop game was quite solid. Well, they took advantage of the arrival of the new Terminator movie and pulled out from the hat yet another freemium-riddled static shooter.

The game was played by us on the LG G4 and it was launched on June 2nd. It’s related to the new Terminator movie, with Arnold and all. Sadly, it’s a very static and scripted game, that puts in your hands a rocket launcher, sniper, railgun, all of them pricey to upgrade. Everything costs a lot, even medipacks and secondary rockets and EMPs you can fire.

There’s cash and there’s also a plasma purple currency, that you can only get after pulling off very hard special missions. Enemies are the Terminators, in various iterations, but usually looking all the same. There are also spider bots, that are hard to target, because they keep moving. Terminator Genisys is a hard and frustrating game and each session takes 2 minutes to play.

Graphics are surprisingly pretty OK, especially the explosions and slow motion sequences. Backgrounds are not very varied and all action happens at night. There’s basically nothing to love here and quite a few things to hate, that’s why I consider we’re generous by giving it a 6 out of 10. You can download it here.
