This Could Hurt Free Review (Lenovo Vibe X3): 4 Year Old Platformer Stands the Test of Time Nicely

Chillingo has dozens, if not hundreds of titles it distributes via the Play Store and not only Play Store and among them we find This Could Hurt. We played the free version of the game on the Lenovo Vibe X3 smartphone, a very affordable midranger with high end specs.
The game was launched in 2012 and it stands the test of time beautifully, with its 3D graphics. It’s a puzzler and platformer, that features traps, including spikes, buzz saws, wrecking balls, fire pits and more. However, if you fall into the void, it’s game over. There’s a HP meter to keep an eye on, so you shouldn’t take traps in a stride.
The control is very simple, since the character (that looks like a hip Zelda) is auto running and keeping the screen pressed makes it stop, while you’re timing the tempo of the traps. There are also powerups bought with acorns (the currency of the game), that slow down traps or protect you from their damage. You will go to various universes, including forest environments, ice and desert.
Trampolines are included, moving platforms and explosive ones even. I like the game, because it has a certain charm and the way the character moves around the labyrinth isn’t hugely different from Monument Valley, albeit lacking its style. Bite size levels make this easy to play on the go. We give it an 8.3 out of 10 and you can download it here.
