  • Implosion Never Lose Hope is the kind of game that would be fine on consoles, let alone on mobiles and tablets. The game debuted a few weeks ago and it’s priced at 10 euros on iOS and the same price on Android, but on that platform you can play the first 6 levels for free.

The main character here is Jake, the pilot of a mech called Avalon, that returns to the devastated Earth 20 years after the Xada alien race attacked. There are still human survivors there, which Jake must save, as he fights the aliens. The robot you pilot uses a sword, but also a rifle or a rocket launcher, that you will find in your path.

You will move the robot with a virtual left thumbstick displayed on the screen, while on the right side there’s the attack button and special attack buttons. We’ve also got a dodge button, that aids the robot to roll around and be invulnerable for a second. There’s a lot of button mashing to do in this hack and slash game and it’s all about the tempo and a lot of running around.

You can earn badges and unlock new abilities/Arks and new mech suits. The Ark system involves an ability listed displayed in a circular pattern, that can be associated to your armor. It will influence the stats and increase HP, attack power, shield and special attacks. You can buy items with the cash you find and there’s a special store with arks and other perks.

As you play, you will get ratings for your missions and replay them on a higher difficulty with goals to achieve, that will earn you extra badges. There are 4 chapters here, with 8 to 10 missions included and huge boss fights at the end of the chapter. I do mean that, since the battles last long and the bosses are gigantic, honestly, just like the older Sega and PSX game bosses.

Mini bosses are present in all levels and the graphics look stunning, with brilliant vortexes of energy fired by you, lasers flying all over, well rendered beasts and great atmosphere, especially in the arctic area. The voice acting is also very good and so is the background music. This is an excellent experience, that gets a solid 10 out of 10 from us. You can download it here.
