Star Wars Uprising Review (Huawei Mate S): a Huge Amount of Content, Funny Dialog, But Also Repetitive Battles (Video)

I can’t say exactly how many Star Wars-themed games I have reviewed over the past years on mobile, but they’re probably half a dozen by now. Among them there’s also the title Star Wars Uprising, available for free in the Play Store and tested on the Huawei Mate S.
The story of the game ties in with “The Force Awakens”, coming in December to the cinemas. This is an action game with RPG elements and very repetitive battles. You get a high degree of character customization and tons of loot and items, plus abilities. The game comes from Kabam and lets you choose abilities and swap them out. Before you begin a mission, you will choose the level of difficulty, which also changes the quantity of loot you get.
Enemies come in waves and the control here is very interesting, with attack being automatic basically, but the abilities have dedicated gestures, like swipe to, swipe in the opposite direction, double tap on the enemy or double tap on your character. You can create alliances, chat in the cantina with real gamers and I have to say that the graphics look quite nice.
There’s lots of dialog and a nice story, so it lets you know what’s happening in the empire. Sectors included here are Burning Konn, Mataou and Hoth, but the universe is quite large to explore. You can train abilities, level up your gear and there are daily missions here and factions/cartels to take part in. Back to the gameplay, you have health pods to cure you and the items are hidden in various pots or boxes. There’s a lot of stuff to enjoy here and everything is excellent, aside from the repetitive gameplay.
We give the game an 8.3 out of 10 and you can download it from here.
