Unearthed Trail of Ibn Battuta Review (LG G Pro 2): Closest Thing to Uncharted and Tomb Raider on Mobile (Video)

Unearthed Trail of Ibn Battuta is a game I’ve had the chance to play on the LG G Pro 2 phablet, where the title looked pretty good. This game is priced at $2 and it’s an action game, available as episodes and also available on the PC and Mac OS X.
Unearthed feels very much like Tomb Raider and Uncharted and it lets you explore pyramids, get chased around with ATVs, take part in gun fights and explore beautiful cities in the Muslim world. Sadly the controls are pretty poorly implemented, especially when it comes to aiming your weapon. Graphics are nice, thanks to the Unity engine and the action is set in the Middle East. The soundtrack is nice and the story is actually not that bad, as you follow the exploration route of the famous Ibn Battuta, a well known explorer.
The atmosphere is nice and puzzles are quite decent, although not hard. The main character is called Faris Jawad and he and his sister have a lot of exploring to do, going to Morocco, Alexandria, Dubai and Damascus on their path. You will meet up with weapon dealers, militia leaders and other shady characters as you progress. The game is quite fun and has a ton of potential, especially if its maker fixes the controls.
We give a 7.3 out of 10 and you can download it here.
